The aims of this study were to compare the APEC isolated from commercial broilers and native chickens in regard to: 1) the phylogenetic group; 2) the phenotypic antimicrobial resistance profiles, and 3) the genotypic antimicrobial resistance profiles of the isolates.

In this study, 100 suspect colibacillosis cases from commercial broilers and 100 suspect colibacillosis cases from native chickens were examined. Swabs of the liver, lungs, heart and spleen of affected chickens from different poultry farms located in the South of Thailand were collected.
