Two feedlots were selected, based upon the saftey of the handling facilities and producer compliance, for repeated samplings of individual cattle. Sampling took place between July 2001 and May 2002. The producers were asked if 50 animals could be followed over time at their feedlots. Samples were taken the day the cattle arrived at thefeedlot, midway during the feeding period and as close as possible to time of shipment.
