Microbial Drug Resistance (2008)

Reference

Thirty-two thousand broiler chicks originating from the same breeder: 16,000 medicated with Linco-Spectin 100, then Tribrissen 48% (Sulfadiazine Trimethoprim), then Tylan (Tylosin), for days 1–3, 19-21, and 26-28 respectively. 16, 000 control. Each group was housed in a separate compartment inside the same poultry house under identical conditions.

Fresh broiler excretions were collected randomly, along two main diagonals of the broiler compartments, from both medicated and control groups, at 4th, 9th, 14th, 18th, 22nd, 25th, 29th, and 33rd day. This ensures, as far as possible, that samples are representative of the entire flock.
