Thirty mature White Leghorn chickens were allotted to three groups of 10. Feed supplemented with racephenicol (supplied by Sterling Winthrop Re-search Institute, Rensselaer, N.Y.) at 50g/ton was provided ad libitum to one test group and at 140g/ton to the other test group. At the end of 10 days, the RA-supplemented feed was replaced with un-medicated feed. The control group received un-medicated feed throughout the experiment.
