In this study, we determined whether Salmonella harbouring blaCMY-2 decreased in chicken meat following the cessation of ceftiofur use in Japan in 2012. Salmonella strains (n = 74) were isolated from 74 of 228 samples of chicken meat. These 228 samples were purchased in seven of the eight Japanese regions in 2015.
